He's Back and Helping Ag

Sen. Tim Johnson moves to stop FSA from closing offices.

Sen. Tim Johnson, D-S.D., is back in the Senate after suffering a brain hemorrhage in December.

The first bill he introduced upon his return to the Senate last week has to do with agriculture. He and five other Democratic Senators introduced legislation to prevent the Farm Service Agency from closing offices under its restructuring plan until a year from the date that the new farm bill is enacted.

Rep. Stephanie Sandlin Herseth, D-S.D., introduced a similar measure in the House earlier this year.
