David Ogle, Harrold.S.D., wins the South Dakota title in the National Corn Growers Association yield contest. Winning entry was 8 bushels per acre better than in 2010.

It apparently was a very good year for corn yields in South Dakota. The top yield in South Dakota in the 2011 National Corn Growers Association yield contest was 294.86 bushel per acre – 8 bushels per acre more than in 2010. This year's top submitted yield was 294.86 bushels per acre by David Ogle from Harrold, S.D.

First, second and third place state winners in the other four categories were:
