New Wind Power on the Border

120 turbines on the drawing board.

Tatanka Wind Power, LLC recently filed papers announcing plans to build 120 wind towers along the South-Dakota – North Dakota border and build a 10 mile power line to connect the turbine to the electrical grid in North Dakota.

The turbines will be divided equally between Wacker Township in McPherson County in northeastern South Dakota and Albertha Township in Dickey County in southeastern North Dakota.

Tatanka is a subsidiary of Acciona Wind Energy USA LLC, Madrid, Spain. It is reportedly developing wind farms in the Dakotas, California, Nevada, Oklahoma, Illinois and New York.

Construction could begin in March.
