National Sheep Seminars and Sale Set for Aug. 4 in Iowa

The Center of the Nation NSIP Sheep Seminar and Sale in Spencer, Iowa, will bring breeders from across the country.

Sheep breeders from across the country will gather in Spencer, Iowa on August 4 for the Center of the Nation NSIP Sheep Seminar and Sale.

"We expect more than 100 top-quality stud rams and breeding ewe consignments from Suffolk, Polypay, Hampshire, Targhee, Dorset, and Columbia breeders from eight states," says sale committee member Deb Park. "Interest in this year's event is at an all-time high and we're pleased with the positive feedback from last year's attendees."

The event is hosted by the Northwest Iowa Sheep Producers and exclusively features breeding stock back by the National Sheep Improvement Program.

The all-producer seminar will begin at 10 a.m. in the Clay County Fairgrounds Swine Barn, and the sale will follow at 1 p.m. An August 3 seminar designed for breeders using the NSIP will begin at 3:30 p.m., also in the swine barn.
